CDL Crane Operator

We're Hiring a CDL Crane Operator in Columbus

This role safely operates a company truck and telescopic boom crane to deliver and place structural steel materials at residential and commercial job sites. You'll set up the crane correctly on every site, read and follow load charts, rig materials safely, and work closely with contractors and crew to get each lift done right. Strong technical ability, high safety standards, and clear communication on site are what make this role work.

What You'll Do

• Perform pre-trip and post-trip DOT truck inspections and daily crane inspections
• Inspect all rigging prior to each use and maintain high safety standards on every job site
• Set up cranes properly at each job site, including placing outrigger pads on every job
• Read and understand load charts prior to lifting, perform load checks, and ensure proper securement
• Rig materials safely and deliver and place them accurately according to site plans
• Control the job site by keeping unauthorized trades out of the crane operation area
• Assist erectors once the final beam is set into place, as needed
• Communicate clearly with crew members, contractors, and site supervisors on every lift

What You'll Bring

• Class B CDL (minimum) with air brake endorsement
• NCCCO Telescopic Boom Crane Certification, Fixed Cab (TSS)
• Rigger/Signal Person Basic Certification
• Ability to read and understand load charts and residential blueprints
• Ability to read a tape measure accurately and solid basic math skills
• Ability to sit, stand, climb, kneel, and lift repeatedly throughout the workday
• Strong commitment to safety, attention to detail, and a team-oriented mindset
