We're Hiring for an Ornamental Welder/Fabricator
This is hands-on custom fabrication, building high-end ornamental steel from blueprint to finished piece. You'll lay out and fabricate rails, driveway gates, spiral stairs, and one-off work for residential and commercial projects, cutting, bending, welding, and grinding to tight tolerances on steel that ends up on display. It's varied, skilled work for a fabricator who takes pride in a clean finish, not repetitive production runs.
What You'll Do
- Fabricate custom, high-end ornamental steel from start to finish: rails, driveway gates, spiral stairs, and one-off pieces for both residential and commercial projects
- Work straight from blueprints, drawings, and customer specs, handling your own layout, dimensions, and material planning
- Cut, bend, weld, and grind steel to tight tolerances on work that ends up on display
- Set up, run, and maintain the equipment a finished piece takes (welders, grinders, and more) following company safety and OSHA procedure
- Inspect your own work and other fabricators' work for quality, and help train the fabricators coming up behind you
What You'll Bring
- Completion of a formal welder training program
- Hands-on experience with layout and blueprint reading
- Basic shop math, comfortable reading a tape measure
- Experience setting up and running fabrication and welding equipment safely
- Welding certification across weld types preferred; we will train and certify the right person who has the academic or work background for it
