We're Hiring for a Structural Welder/Fabricator
This is fast-paced structural fabrication, building a wide variety of steel products to customer spec and keeping day orders moving. You'll work from blueprints and your own layout to cut, bend, weld, and grind structural steel, run the full range of shop equipment, and check quality on your own work and other fabricators'. We're looking for a welder/fabricator who knows the trade and is looking for a place to grow.
What You'll Do
- Fabricate a wide variety of structural steel products to customer specifications, at the fast pace day-order work demands
- Work from blueprints, drawings, and work orders, planning your own dimensions, layout, and material before you cut
- Cut, bend, weld, and grind structural steel to spec
- Set up and run shop equipment (welders, grinders, shears, saws, punches, torch, and notcher), starting it up and shutting it down following company safety and OSHA procedure
- Move between day-order jobs and the column area as the schedule demands
- Inspect your own work and other fabricators' work for quality
- Help train the fabricators coming up behind you
What You'll Bring
- Two or more years of experience as a welder/fabricator
- Completion of a formal welder training program
- Experience reading and interpreting fabrication blueprints and drawings (strongly preferred)
- Basic shop math, comfortable reading a tape measure
