Why Ericson

A hundred years in, still building

A century of making things

It started with a 1918 patent for the original rubber handlamp, a simple idea that made jobsites safer. A hundred years later the mission has not changed, and neither has the address. The vast majority of Ericson products are still built in the USA.

Family owned, fourth generation

Fewer than 3% of family businesses ever reach a fourth generation. Ericson just did, with brothers John and Josh Ericson now leading the company their great-grandfather founded.

Growing, not coasting

A third building in Willoughby. Twenty thousand square feet of new production space. Investment in 3D printing and next-generation manufacturing, with 30 new jobs on the way. The next chapter is being built right now.

Your work shows up everywhere

Ericson equipment powers construction sites, AI data centers, shipyards, food plants, and the event rental world, up to and including PGA tour events. Build something here and you will see it out there.

The company

From one patent to 10,000 products

E.O. Ericson spent his life making electrical work safer, and the company he founded in 1918 never stopped. Today Ericson engineers and manufactures four product families covering temporary power, jobsite lighting, and electrical safety, with more than 10,000 products available off the shelf.

And when a customer shows up with a power problem no catalog can solve, Ericson custom engineers the answer. That mix of standard product and one-of-a-kind work is what keeps this shop floor interesting.

Who does well here

People who like work you can point to. Ericson is a place for builders, problem solvers, and safety sticklers: assemblers, fabricators, engineers, and the people who keep orders moving out the door. If you want your name on work that leaves the building on a truck, you will fit right in.
